When was the last time you read a book in translation?

Translated Lit
Happy International Translation Day, readers! Every year, on September 30th, we celebrate this important day to “recognize the invaluable contributions of translators and interpreters in bridging linguistic and cultural divides.”Literary translators are such an important part of the bookish world. Without them, can you imagine how many stories wouldn’t be available to us? Stories originally written all across the globe in languages we are not familiar with - be those French, Korean, Japanese, Dutch, Swedish, etc. - are translated into English to help make them more accessible. As someone who’s personally a huge fan of translated literature – primarily focusing on Korean and Japanese translated literature, but I’m making my way to some other parts of the world now – I’m excited to hear more about what kind of translated works people are reading on Fable. I’ve put together a list (rather short, given the thousands of different translated titles in the world right now) in the comments. I am 100% I’ve missed languages/countries and some more popular titles. For that, I hope you’ll forgive me! I had to stick to a limit. However, take this as your chance to share your favorites in the comments so that our list can grow.Check out the recommendations on the Fable home feed!
