Read The Inheritance Games with The Book Babes

The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Who is the first person you talk to when you finish a great book? The Book Babes book club founder Kassie Lafazia got inspired to launch her own Fable book club one year ago to find more reading buddies. “I knew Fable was the platform for us to be on,” she said. “I started this book club because I found that reading these insane books by myself and then talking to my partner about them wasn’t that enjoyable. Weirdly enough, he wasn’t all that interested in a dude who slept with his wife’s ghostwriter while she was in a coma upstairs!" Later this month, the free Book Babes book club will switch to “The Inheritance Games,” a series with a growing fanbase on TikTok.Read The Inheritance Games with The Book Babes!

Meet The Book Babes

We caught up with Kassie to learn more about her growing book club. “I feel blessed to have the most amazing book club in the smallest state, Rhode Island!” she said. “Reading was my first love. I began reading a bit before Kindergarten, and by the time I hit first grade, I was stealing my brother’s assigned reading books for middle school. I lost my passion as I became an adult, but it was reignited last year. That’s how I was led to create The Book Babes!”The club started with 12 women but quickly grew. “Now it has blossomed into a huge community! We went from just reading on Fable together to designing merchandise, having a website, having social media, planning our first-anniversary party, and even a charity virtual 5K as a club,” said Kassie.

"I’m so blessed I found my community of women just from Fable! We’re so close now, I consider them the aunties to my daughter (who thinks she’s taking over as the president of my book club when I’m older)."

The book club votes monthly on selections, choosing "The Inheritance Games" for the next pick.

What is The Inheritance Games?

The Inheritance Games” follows the story of Avery Grambs, a teenager who unexpectedly inherits a fortune from a billionaire she never met.But there’s a catch: To receive her inheritance, Avery must move into sprawling, secret passage-filled Hawthorne House, where every room bears the old man’s touch -- and his love of puzzles, riddles, and codes. One of the reasons BookTok loves this series is its clever plot twists and turns. Barnes keeps readers on their toes with unexpected revelations and surprises. Another reason is the memorable cast of characters. Avery is intelligent and resourceful, while the Hawthorne brothers are intriguing and complex.
