January Challenges
Every month, the Fable editorial team puts together a variety pack of reading challenges for our community. These challenges cover a wide range of reading experiences, adding a bit of extra inspiration to your reading life.If you accomplish one or more of these literary feats, you can add the "January Reading Challenge" badge to next month’s Reading Wrap. At the end of the month, just open your Fable profile, and you’ll see a “Monthly Wrap” button. There, you’ll find the free "January Reading Challenge" digital sticker. We operate on the honor system with our reading challenges, so there's no button to push or form to fill out. Remember, these challenges are just for fun, so don't feel any pressure to participate!
Challenge One
Read a nonfiction book about learning something new, setting goals, improving a skill, or motivation to celebrate the arrival of a new year.
Challenge Two
Set a literary goal for 2026! Any kind of reading resolution counts: how many books you want to read, what new genres you hope to explore, or even deciding to write your own book.
Challenge Three
Read a book by a BIPOC author as we celebrate the legacy of a great civil rights leader on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 19).
Challenge Four
Read a book with your favorite hot beverage, then post about the drink and your book on the For You feed to celebrate National Hot Tea Day (January 12) and National Coffee Break Day (January 20).
Challenge Five
Read a Regency romance or any classic romance novel to celebrate the release of Bridgerton Season 4 (January 29).
Challenge Six
Shake up your routine with a format you don't usually read. For instance, die-hard print-book readers can try an audiobook, Kindle girlies can try a hardcover, or audiobook obsessives can try a paperback.
