Is Amazon making a new Lord of the Rings series?
The news is out! The Lord of the Rings is returning to the digital world as Amazon Studios plans to immerse a new generation of fans in J.R. R. Tolkein’s Middle-Earth. The Lord of the Rings: The Ring of Powers is scheduled to debut on September 2, 2022, on Prime Video. In a shocking interview, New Zealand’s minister for economic development and tourism Stuart Nash revealed that the first season alone could cost upwards of $650 million! Rumors of the show began back in 2017, but the cast, crew, and production were sworn to secrecy. Unfortunately, Peter Jackson has confirmed that he is not affiliated with The Ring of Powers. JD Payne and Patrick McKay, who wrote Godzilla versus King Kong and Star Trek 4, are the duo responsible for this new vision of Lord of the Rings.Who are the main characters of the Lord of the Rings?

The show will primarily focus on a new set of characters from the Middle-Earth. Morfydd Clark had been cast as Galadriel, an Elven warrior who believes evil is returning to Middle-earth. Almost 1000 years younger than Cate Blanchett’s character in the original Lord of the Rings!
Robert Aramayo plays Elrond: a half-Elven architect and politician. Owain Arthur is Durin IV: prince of the Dwarven city of Khazad-dûmSophia Monvete is Princess Disa, the first dwarf woman to appear in the Lord of the Rings universe
