What is Fourth Wing About?

This novel has exploded on TikTok, generating hundreds of videos and reviews. Many Fable book clubs have already read the book, including The NeverEnding TBR, Literary Libra Book Club, and Babes Between Book Club. The novel is set in the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders. It tells the story of twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail, who was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general (also known as her tough-as-talons mother) has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.Violet is smaller than everyone else, and her body is brittle, so death is only a heartbeat away in the military because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them. “Romance author Yarros blends the epic tale of a reluctant dragon rider’s coming-of-age with a sexy dark academia aesthetic in her astounding debut fantasy,” writes Publishers Weekly in a starred review.

"Yarros’s worldbuilding is intricate without being overbearing, setting the stage for Violet’s satisfying growth into a force to be reckoned with. Readers will be spellbound and eager for more."

I absolutely live for the bonds that form over the course of the book, so heartwarming,” she wrote.
