Discover Great Books for Latinx Heritage Month
Since 1968, people have celebrated the culture, history, and impact of Hispanic culture in America with Latinx Hispanic Heritage Month. Beginning on September 15th, this is a period where readers can immerse themselves in the vibrant work of Hispanic authors. While we should not limit celebrating and lifting Hispanic voices to just one month, this holiday gives us the opportunity to spotlight some incredible authors’ work.

"We're the unknown Americans, the ones no one even wants to know, because they've been told they're supposed to be scared of us and because maybe if they did take the time to get to know us, they might realize that we're not that bad, maybe even that we're a lot like them. And who would they hate then?"Cristina Henriquez, The Book of Unknown Americans

To kick off Latinx Hispanic Heritage Month, we have curated a list of book recommendations across all genres written by Hispanic authors.

“Writing is a struggle against silence.” —Carlos Fuentes

"Without diverse books, all readers have a diminished experience of the world. If we do not see ourselves reflected in books, we begin to believe that others do not see us. And if we do not see in books those who are different than us, the world stays as small as our view of it."
