Bridgerton was a hot topic for legendary creator Shonda Rhimes from the moment she discovered the books. She would ultimately turn this beloved series into a sexy and literary new series, binged by millions. "I remember I was almost scaring people, like, 'We have to get these crazy romance novels — they're hot, and they're sexy, and they're really interesting,'" Rhimes told The Hollywood Reporter. She brought the popular historical romance series to life, bringing scores of new readers to a unique genre. The second season trailer highlights everything people love about this show and series.https://youtu.be/qYNCws-a6CQGreat Bridgerton Quotes
The first book in the Bridgerton series is "The Duke and I," which People Magazine ranked EIGHTH out of the eight novels in the series. Here are some unforgettable, witty, and crowd-pleasing quotes from the first book in the series.“A duel, a duel, a duel. Is there anything more exciting, more romantic ... or more utterly moronic?” ― Julia Quinn
Did you know I have always suspected that men were idiots," Daphne ground out, "but I was never positive until today.” ― Julia Quinn
“Men are sheep. Where one goes, the rest will soon follow. ― Julia Quinn
“To say that men can be bullheaded would be insulting to the bull.” ― Julia Quinn
“And if you say that's because you lot barged into her home like a herd of mentally deficient sheep, I'm disowning all three of you.” ― Julia Quinn
Bridgerton Book Reviews
Ever since it was released in January 2000, the Bridgerton series has earned rave reviews from generations of fans. We've collected a few of the best reviews, helping you decide if the series is right for you."it's the book that started it all, but readers of the Bridgerton series know that Quinn's first book is far from the best of the series. A fake courtship creates plenty of moments for tension to build between Daphne and Simon, Duke of Hastings, and their chemistry in the novels is great."― People Magazine
"I hope it's obvious that I love the Bridgerton series. A few of the older books are starting to show their age with plots that are no longer en vogue, (*cough*Daphne*cough*,) and the similarities are pretty obvious, especially if you marathon them, but there's a lot of fun to be had. As an introduction to one of the biggest romance writers, I think this would be a phenomenal starting point."― Ageless Pages
"This is the third time I've read The Duke & I. The first time I was in high school (and completely besotted with Simon), the second time, I was in my early to mid 20s, and now I'm in my early 30s. And I'm still completely besotted with Simon! This story is definitely a historical romance classic and it's holds up after all these years! I love the relationship that Daphne and Simon develop. It's fun and sweet, lots of really good flirting!"― S. J. Cooper
Is Bridgerton historically correct?
“I think historical romance has been passed over because of the expense,” author Julia Quinn told Shondaland, concerned that the high production values of historical romance had kept producers from adapting these beloved books. The Netflix show creator Chris Van Dusen said that the show was never intended to by a "history lesson," instead they hoped to show England in the early 1800s in a brand new way. Van Dusen explained at Elle Magazine:"There were not actually any real Bridgertons in 1813 Regency London as far as I know. We honoured the history, of course, but we're not beholden to it. It's a reimagined world, and what we're really doing is marrying history and fantasy in what I think is a really exciting way."
Is Bridgerton Season 2 out?
Yes indeed! In fact, the show has shattered viewership records for streaming giant Netflix. According to Deadline, viewers spent nearly 252 million hours watching the show in its first week around the world. Even better, it counted a staggering 193 million viewing hours in the first weekend alone.
