Christine Holbo is Associate Professor of English at Arizona State University. Her work investigates the intersections of law, literature, philosophy, and politics in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She is the author of Legal Realisms: Th e American Novel under Reconstruction (Oxford, 2019), which explores the transformation of the realist novel in the age of the Fourteenth Amendment. Her publications on literary realism, poetic and novelistic modernism, and sentimental aesthetics have appeared in journals including ELH, American Literary History, American Literary Realism, and Early American Literature.Christine Holbo Books
